In Bochum angekommen – aber unbekannt?

Festival „Specially unknown“  – 6 to 7 April 2019 – Bochum (Germany)

Many refugees live in Bochum. From the 2nd World War to 2015 and 2016, a lot of people from different parts of the world came to Bochum in search of protection, freedom and security, and found shelter in the city.

Despite commitments, good will and a welcoming culture, for many social groups in the city refugees are still especially unknown.

The Festival “Specially Unknown” gives a stage to the refugees.

On Saturday 6 April, on the Dr. Ruer-Plaz square in the city centre, the associations and organizations of the various refugee communities living in  Bochum will jointly present themselves through music, dance and stories.

On Sunday 7 April, a series of intercultural and transcultural debates will be held in LWL Museum, partner of Specially Unknown, where people will be able, through exchange of experiences, to discover what connects them.
